Used as VW Showroom display car until late 1995.

Bought from a VW dealer in May 1996 by present owner. Used only in fine weather.

Paintwork had been marked in the VW showroom, so a light re-spray for cosmetic reasons was carried out in 1996. Under-seal also stripped and replaced for completeness.

Rubber parts (tyres, seals etc.) had aged and have been replaced as car returned to use.

Battery, brake cylinders, steering damper, starter motor, petrol pump, speedometer (failed @ 16241 miles) and other minor parts replaced, by genuine VW parts, where possible.
